Stig Wahlström Hydraulik has been involved in developing the latest addition to Väderstad's product family Spirit. "The machine follows the terrain while ensuring a precise seed placement. Even emergence results throughout the field are guaranteed", says Johan Söderberg at Väderstad.
The collaboration between Stig Wahlström Hydraulik and Väderstad began almost two years ago with a feasibility study for a new type of machine in Väderstad's product family Spirit. A further development of the machine's working width was paramount and new features had to be established, whilst the machine had to provide the same secure establishment results as the larger Spirit models.
High precision even at higher speeds
The Spirit R 300S, as the machine is designated, is a seed drill with an impressive seed placement, securing high precision even at higher speeds. The machine's working width is three meters, making it a sought-after addition to the existing Spirit family, designed specifically for lighter soils.
Further developed hydraulic functions enhance the working equipment's performance, including an improved adherence.
"The machine follows the terrain while ensuring a precise seed placement. Even emergence results throughout the field are guaranteed. Furthermore, the machine's functions and settings are hydraulically and electrically adjustable from the cab via E-Control, an iPad-based control system", says Johan Söderberg, design engineer at Väderstad.
Successful cooperation with Stig Wahlström Hydraulik
When Väderstad decided to broaden its supplier base by adding new manufacturers who could offer new solutions, the choice fell on Stig Wahlström Hydraulik.
"In Stig Wahlström Hydraulik we found a moderately large company with production in central Sweden, which was important to us. Not only do they supply us with quick answers, they are also flexible in the development work, resulting in an excellent workflow. Stig Wahlström Hydraulik are able to supply us with relevant components and design solutions and they are also knowledgeable in areas related to the components we use. At Väderstad the development pace is high, with a short time between decision and implementation. Stig Wahlström Hydraulik is able to meet our working methods, so cooperation is working very smoothly," says Anders Nilsson who is working as a design manager at Väderstad.
Right now, the Spirit R 300S is launched on the market. After the introduction the well-functioning cooperation with Stig Wahlström Hydraulik will continue. As Väderstad has hydraulic systems in all its machine types, there will be more components to develop.
